The Mission Lives on Through CHI St. Alexius Health
Today, on October 16, 2014, members of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and St. Alexius joined to celebrate the affiliation between the two entities to strengthen Catholic healthcare and the services it provides to the people of this region. All gathered for a blessing in the St. Alexius chapel, flag raising ceremony and a celebratory buffet luncheon.
Sister Nancy Miller, prioress of Annunciation Monastery offered this blessing:
"Gracious and loving God, faithful from age to age, we stand in your presence and bless your holy name. In the gift of your Spirit, in the tradition and charism of St. Benedict to "Receive all as Christ" and to give primacy to the care of the sick, and under the patronage of St. Alexius, we stand together to carry into the future the ministry of health care inaugurated in Bismarck at St. Alexius in 1885. With the founding Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery, we affirm the call to serve the health needs of the people of the prairie. Today we bless and celebrate our affiliation with Catholic Health Care Initiatives.
In faith, we live and work in promise and celebrate the hope that is to come because you, O God, are faithful.
