| The Lamborn Hotel was purchased by Abbot Alexius of St.
John's Abbey, MN and became the first regional hospital. The
sisters treated 65 patients in 1885, contracting with the county
to care for the sick at $1.00 a day. Forty years later, St.
Alexius Hospital graduated its first class of nurses. |
