President John F. Kennedy toured St. Alexius Medical Center with
Sister Paul McCarthy (R) and Sister Wanda Piotrowski (L).
We continue to sponsor St.
Alexius Medical Center today. The thriving medical center
has been called the "Mayo on the Missouri." The founding
sisters, who started a modest healthcare facility in the old
Lamborn Hotel, would be proud to know their lights are still
leading us onward with vision and faith, improving the lives of
so many. The medical center embraces Benedictine values
and the commitment to, "Let all be received as Christ."
