University of Mary, welcome new University President Father James
Patrick Shea

At a press conference Friday,
December 5, 2008, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Martin White and
Board President and Prioress of the Benedictine Sisters of
Annunciation Monastery Sister Nancy Miller introduced Father James
Patrick Shea as the University of Mary’s sixth president.
“Father Shea is a person of extreme faith, integrity and passion,”
commented White. “He has an aura of energy, a youthful smile and a
special gift to inspire, connect and communicate with people of all
ages. Father Shea exudes leadership and charisma well beyond his
years.”
“Father Shea has demonstrated the innovative and collaborative
leadership we were seeking for this position,” remarked Sister Nancy
Miller. “He is vibrant, energetic and possesses a spirit of hope and
optimism for the future.”
Father
Shea, who will succeed Sister Thomas Welder effective July 1,
2009, currently serves as pastor of the Church of St. Joseph in
Killdeer, ND, and the Church of St. Paul in Halliday, ND. He also is
the senior religion teacher and chaplain at Trinity High School in
Dickinson, ND.

Last week's blizzard left us with a winter
wonderland.
