At a press conference Friday, December 5, 2008, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Martin White and Board President and Prioress of the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery Sister Nancy Miller introduced Father James Patrick Shea as the University of Mary’s sixth president.

“Father Shea is a person of extreme faith, integrity and passion,” commented White. “He has an aura of energy, a youthful smile and a special gift to inspire, connect and communicate with people of all ages. Father Shea exudes leadership and charisma well beyond his years.”

“Father Shea has demonstrated the innovative and collaborative leadership we were seeking for this position,” remarked Sister Nancy Miller. “He is vibrant, energetic and possesses a spirit of hope and optimism for the future.”

Father Shea, who will succeed Sister Thomas Welder effective July 1, 2009, currently serves as pastor of the Church of St. Joseph in Killdeer, ND, and the Church of St. Paul in Halliday, ND. He also is the senior religion teacher and chaplain at Trinity High School in Dickinson, ND.

Last week's blizzard left us with a winter wonderland.

See the picture below to see the vast difference from a few weeks ago!  Whether the trees are covered with brightly colored leaves or a layer of frost, they look heavenly!

The days have been crisp and the colors are stunning.  Thank you, God, for your palette of rich, autumn hues.  This is one of the breathtaking views from our home!
