Happy Valentine's Day!

Sisters JoAnn, Mary Ann, Patricia and Kathryn enjoy some sweet Valentine treats.

Sister Ruth Margaret is working on her Valentine cards.

Happy Catholic Schools Week!

We were happy to be invited to attend some of the super celebrations during Catholic Schools Week at St. Anne's School and St. Mary's Parish!  At St. Anne's, we enjoyed lunch, visiting with the children in their classrooms and wonderful, creative plays.  At St. Mary's, we were treated to a beautiful Mass, a talk about the history of St. Mary's (did you know our pioneering foremothers started St. Mary's?)  Later we had scrumptious birthday cake to celebrate their 130 years of existence.

Sister Patricia and Sister Delora enjoyed their time visiting with the kindergarten class at St. Anne's.  The children were dressed like storybook characters and heroes!

Sisters and students alike sang an energetic song about Jesus. Here we are spelling J-E-S-U-S.  It was so much fun!

Sister Hannah and Sister Mariah answer questions about what it is like to be a sister.

Some of the students tell Sister Claire their parents were students of hers.

Did You Know most of our sisters taught at St. Mary's grade school and/or served in the parish?  The following sisters attended today's (Jan. 30, 2009)celebration of St. Mary's grade school's 130th birthday:

Sister Elizabeth Novy

Sister Jeanette

Sister Gemma Peters

Sister JoAnn Krebsbach

Sister Helen Kilzer

Sister Denise Ressler

Sister Patricia Schap

Welcome University of Mary students

Our Sisters immensely enjoyed visiting with University of Mary students on December 9. The students came over during their "Basic Catholic Beliefs" class and talked to the sisters about their vocation, ministry, education and the Benedictine values.  Students rotated from table to table, meeting and visiting with the sisters and asking questions.

Sister Elizabeth Mason visits with students.

Students enjoyed time looking at Sister Kathryn Zimmer's scrapbooks and           hearing her stories.

Sister Kathleen Atkinson encourages the students to be present, to be God in the flesh, to others.

The sisters blessed the students before they departed.  Students were invited to come back and visit the sisters and join them in prayer.
