Sister Nancy Gunderson's art receives

"People's Choice Award"

at BAGA Art Show

Sister Nancy Gunderson's, "Six Days of Creation," received the People's Choice Award at the Bismarck Art & Galleries Association's "Autumn Artistry" art show. The public was asked to vote on their favorite art piece at the gallery throughout the month of October.  Congratulations, Sister Nancy!

Bismarck ND 1804 ribbon cutting held 

Local and state officials including, State Deputy Chief of Staff Lance Gaebe and Sister Thomas Welder, President of University of Mary, participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning to celebrate the completion of the Bismarck ND Highway 1804 reconstruction project north of the University of Mary.

 “The completion of this reconstruction project is important for the state, the community of Bismarck, businesses, residents and the University of Mary. As the city continues to expand this road will support and build upon that economical growth,” said Francis Ziegler, Director of the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT).   

 Work on the $9.5 million project began this spring and was completed this month.  The Highway 1804 reconstruction project has involved:

·         Complete replacement of a 2.2 mile-long road section.

·         Improved pedestrian access including a pedestrian bridge/overpass.

·         A multi-use path from Burleigh Avenue to the south entrance of the University of Mary.

Sister Nancy Gunderson's Art on Display

Fiber artist, Sister Nancy Gunderson, created this breathtaking wall-hanging titled, "The Fall of Summer."  Her piece was on exhibit at Bismarck Art & Galleries Association's 63rd Annual Fall Art Exhibition Oct. 2-27.  It was chosen to travel on to the Elsa Forde Gallery at Bismarck State College, where it is currently on display.
