Oblates of Annunciation Monastery
(October 2009)

We would like to express our
gratitude to our devoted group of Oblates who enrich our
lives in many ways. May God bless
all of you as you live and extend the Benedictine values!
Oblate Phyllis Thompson
Annunciation Monastery welcomed
Phyllis Thompson, who presented at our October
7 meeting! Below are some photos from her presentation
about her attendance at the North American Association of
Benedictine Oblate Directors (NAABOD) meeting in Lacey, WA. Sister
Stephanie Dolyniuk also attended.
Themes of the conference included Leadership (Qualities,
Active Listening, Responding to Leadership, Humility, Models
of Leadership and Leadership in the Rule of Benedict).

The doors were hand-carved from 14 different woods and
stylized to honor the foliage mentioned in the Scripture.

Welcome
Oblates, Dwight and Karen Kautzmann!

The sisters welcomed Dwight
and Karen Kautzmann as Oblates of Annunciation Monastery on
November 5. Pictured above are: Sister Susan
Berger, Prioress; Dwight and Karen Kautzmann, and Sister
Susan Lardy, oblate director. We pray for them as they
continue journeying with our monastic community in deepening
our faith and commitment to God.

"Work CAN and SHOULD be praise."
"Many people don't see their
work as something they live to do. God calls every
person to become what God envisioned for us. God has a
need and purpose for each of us to fulfill. We need to
attend to this each day."
